Backstage Student Accommodation Lodge – Richards Bay (Tuzi Gazi & Mzingazi Area)

Property Tawi played a key role in empowering local entrepreneurs through the development of student accommodation facilities in the Mzingazi area of Richards Bay. This middle-density student accommodation project, owned by TV Multi Services, was developed, funded, and is currently managed by Property Tawi. The initiative supports local economic participation while addressing the growing demand for quality student housing.

Jozini Central Business District Development

In collaboration with the Jozini Local Municipality and local business owners, Property Tawi contributed to the formalisation and regulation of commercial infrastructure within the Jozini CBD. Our role included aligning developments with national building standards, consulting on compliance requirements, and preparing as-built documentation for resubmission and approval. This process was undertaken in close coordination with the Big 5 Municipalities and the Jozini Town Planning Department, ensuring regulatory compliance and improved urban development standards.

Revitalisation of Durban Central Police Station Married Quarters Mixed-Use Precinct

As the lead designer on this strategic urban redevelopment project, Property Tawi proposed a phased mixed-use precinct aimed at revitalising the Durban Central Police Station Married Quarters. The development is structured into three key nodes:

• Node 1 – Phase 1: Affordable Student Village

• Node 2 – Phase 2: Affordable Middle-Income Residential Village

• Node 3 – Phase 3: High-Density Residential and Mixed-Use Development

This project is designed to create an integrated, sustainable urban environment that caters to diverse income groups while promoting inner-city regeneration.
